Hi everyone! Wow, I've been bad bad bad bad about keeping this blog up! Sorry! So, what's new with us? Not TOO much...same ol' same ol'- working lots, running lots, and it's SUMMER IN HAWAII!!! Ok, what does that mean- cause isn't it always summer in Hawaii? No...it isn't always warm here...I've definitely had to pull out my sweats this winter, and now its finally at the point where the trade winds have settled down and there's no longer a nip in the air...SUMMER! :o)
We went to the beach today, and this is a typical Sat/Sun at the local beach park...lots of Hawaiian families bring their canopies and camp out for the entire day. Today there were little kids EVERYWHERE. First birthdays are a huge thing here in Hawaii...almost like a wedding- they throw big parties and invite tons of people...there is usually a birthday celebration every weekend, and it's usually accompanied by one of those blow up jumpers...this dragon one was the biggest I'd ever seen...lucky little kid!
See all those canopies lined up? They are all serving deliciously marinated meats, rice, potato salad, fruit punch and it smells so stinkin' good! I like this Hawaiian way! ;)
Family day at the beach- little kids were swarming! Pretty blue skies, huh!
Robby was cracking up at this older couple who were trying to stand up paddle board. The guy would lay down and the woman would try to stand up and not 10 seconds later, she'd flip the board- then they'd switch places and try it again, it was hilarious, but hey...gotta give it to them for trying!!!
